Pre-Owned Corfield WA67 Architectural Shift Camera. This camera has been left with us by a long-standing and trusted client.

One of the rarest and most unique cameras made. The Corfield WA67 is a highly specialised medium format camera made for architectural photography. An inspired design by British industrialist, Sir Ken Corfield, the WA67 was the complete opposite of the traditional way of capturing architectural images. Instead of a fully fledged large format camera with it’s complicated and largely unnecessary movements, the WA67 is small, compact 6x7cm format and with the most essential capability of all, shift.

The genius of the design was that the camera is composed to two plates. The front plate supporting the lens and focus mount and the rear plate that has the film magazine. This allows one to be vertically moved or ‘shifted’ in relation to the other. Up to 20mm of shift was available up or down. Equally as clever is that the attached viewfinder pivots to track the rise and fall of the shift thus giving parallax corrected coverage.

A Schneider Super Angulon 47mm F5.6 is fitted to a focusing mount. The self cocking Prontor Press shutter offers speeds from 1/125th to 1 sec as well as B & T. The Super Angulon is a highly corrected wide angle.

The rear of the camera has a removable focusing screen which is then replaced with the film back. A modified Mamiya RB67 6x7cm format film back allows up to 10 shots and can be used in vertically or horizontally.

Both the camera and lens have been serviced. The camera has been dismantled and the shift mechanism has been cleaned and relubricated. The lens has been stripped, cleaned and the shutter has been serviced. The viewfinder has also been cleaned.

In very good condition overall with signs of use. The camera has been used but sporadically and signs of use are light. There is a very light coating mark just under the front element but its unlikely to affect the image.

The camera is supplied, with the 120 RFH Back, original viewfinder, front lens cap and original instructions.
