The Linhof Technorama 617s is one of the most recognisable and respected panoramic cameras made. With the legendary build quality that Linhof is famous for, the Technorama 617s is suitably tough and well made. It has a solid, all in one piece die cast aluminium body. Even better is that it’s not battery reliant.

Aimed at the landscape, art and architectural photographer, the unique capabilities of the format lend itself to extraordinary images. The 6x17cm format allows for 4 shots on 120 film. Fully mechanical, it allows users to be free from the concern and worry about low batteries or batteries failing in cold temperatures. Adventurous photographers who are willing to push the boundaries will be able to use the camera in extreme conditions if required.

Despite it’s size, the 617s is easy to handle. The angled shutter release providing the ideal position for confident shooting. Framing is with a detachable viewfinder, with the correct frame lines for the 90mm. It’s also got a built in spirit level. The finder is removable. You can scout locations and judge composition prior to setting up the camera.

The camera is fitted with the Schneider Super-Angulon 90mm F5.6 lens. It’s a Linhof Select lens. It means that it’s been tested and evaluated as being amongst the best. The lens is also a later multicoated example.

It’s in very good condition with some signs of use. Optics are clean with no indication of dust or haze. The focusing mount is also smooth to operate. Shutter speeds have been tested and are accurate.
