Pre-Owned Rodenstock Apo-Sironar Digital 55mm F4.5 in Excellent condition. This lens has been left with us to sell on behalf of a long-standing and trusted client.

Optimising their earlier Apo-Grandagon 55mm F4.5, a lens designed for use on film, Rodenstock developed the Apo-Sironar Digital for use with digital camera sensors up to 72 x 92mm. Configuring the lens to cover a smaller image circle, it mean that the lens offers better performance from the maximum aperture, delivers maximum resolution and enhanced colour correction. The higher demands of a digital sensors, require a lens capable of resolving very fine details.

The Apochomatic design reduces colour fringing inherent in complex optical designs to a minimum. It’s also part of the reason why some lenses designed for film use can never be used successfully on digital formats.

The lens is in excellent condition with slight signs of use. The optics are clean and with minimal dust. The lens is fitted onto a Copal 0 shutter. Speeds have been tested and are correct and as progressive as expected.

The lens is fitted to a Sinar Type Sunken Lenspanel. The panel itself is heavy duty and can be changed to another type if required and if available from stock.
