When it was introduced, the Canon 17mm TSE was the widest shift lenses available. It caused great excitement amongst photographers due to it’s ultra wide angle focal length. However few could have expected that the lens was equally dramatic to look at alongside it’s extraordinary specification. Looking at the lens for the first time is always one of being astounded, impressed or just intimidated by that huge dome of a front element. That 17mm focal length is the result of a remarkable optical design and with a moulded glass aspherical element as well as 4x Ultra Low Dispersion Glass Elements. Canon has made extensive use of it’s SWC (sub-wavelength structure coating ) to reduce and control ghosting and flare.

Like all Canon EF TSE lenses, focusing is manual with electronic aperture control.

A whopping 67.2mm image circle means that the lens offers a 6.5º tilt in any direction and shift of 12mm. Both the tilt and shift mechanism are independent of each other. Another first for Canon and allows for very precise control. Both, once set can be locked if shooting panoramic or stitched images for example.

In mint condition. Showing almost no signs of use. Little used, the lens is optically, mechanically and electronically in as new condition.
