Heliopan Long Metal Lens Hood, 39-105mm

Heliopan Long Metal Lens Hoods have a very solid, cylindrical all metal construction. They do not flare out at all, and are thus suitable only for telephoto lenses. The matte black finish virtually eliminates interior reflections. The range of metal hoods have a front and rear thread meaning that the hood can be easily extended. Available in sizes 39mm to 105mm.

The smaller sizes are very popular with Leica users.

Like using a tripod, a lens hood is one of the most simple and effective ways to improve your photos. Stray light spillage and reflections often cause photos to lose contrast and colour saturation, as well as lens flare – which might not always be an effect you want! A Heliopan Long Metal Lens Hood can drastically reduce any unwanted light rays reaching the front of the lens, and in bright, sunny conditions they are an essential piece of kit.

Established in 1949, Heliopan was founded by Mr.Martin Summer. Made in Germany, all Heliopan screw-in filters come in high quality anodised slim brass mounts which virtually eliminate binding. Some Heliopan filters are also available in the SH-PMC Multicoated type. A remarkable 8 Layer Multicoating uses metallic oxide coatings and enhances anti-reflection capabilities but also protects the glass with it’s hard scratch protective surface. Plus it’s coated on both sides of the filter!

Apart from the range of short and long metal lens hood, Heliopan also offer collapsible rubber lenshoods. Photographers will also be equally interested in the comprehensive range of stepping rings.
