Graduated Filter Kit 2 is made up of the following colour graduated filters:
Tobac filter, density 2: This graduated Tobac filter is a warm brownish orange.
Coral filter, density 2: The Coral colour graduated filter is a pale pink filter that can be used as both colour correcting and colour effects. Coral graduated filters can be used to warm cool lighting situations such as overcast days.
Straw filter, density 2: This graduated straw filter is a vibrant gold/yellow warming colour.
Colour graduated camera filters create an effect in the top half of your photo whilst leaving the bottom undisturbed. Colour graduated filters are most commonly used on skylines of landscape work. Grads come in a variety of colours and can create subtle or dramatic effects. They are available in densities 1, 2 or 3.
Colour graduated camera filters are available in both hard and soft gradients. Soft edges have a smooth transition from clear to colour, whereas hard edge filters have a more defined hard line transition.
The two most important things to remember when using grad filters with your camera is that you should take a meter reading of the subject before putting on the grad that you should and set the aperture manually.
The Hitech filter system is manufactured by Formatt Filters to offer versatility and creative capabilities to stills photographers. Hitech filters are manufactured using the Queens Award winning CR39 dyed substrate. Formatt developed a method of colouring CR39 in its liquid state, thereby ensuring consistency and accuracy of colour.
