Shogun is the world’s most advanced recorder, monitor and playback device for 4K and HD workflows. Featuring HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI input and output, Shogun is an incredibly versatile monitor-recorder solution that supports 10-bit 4:2:2 recording to Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD and Cinema DNG raw formats. Constructed from aircraft grade aluminium Shogun is both lightweight and robust making it suitable for use not only in studios but also in the most challenging field environments.
Atomos Shogun Display
Like Atomos' Samurai Blade and Ninja Blade devices, Shogun features a SuperAtom IPS display with super-sharp 325ppi density and 400nit brightness, but in a larger 7" 1920×1200 size. Comprehensive monitoring tools as just one touch away including waveform with luma, RGB parade and vectorscope (including zoom); monitor assist tools such as adjustable focus peaking, zebra, false colour, blue only and grid guides; as well as a test pattern generator.
Atomos Shogun Calibration
Calibrated to SMPTE Rec.709 with 100% gamut and D65 white point out of the box, the impressive SuperAtom display gives users visuals they can trust. With full customisation possible as well as support for Canon C-Log, Shogun can also be calibrated on-the-fly with the Atomos Spyder device to ensure visuals remain to the Rec.709 specification.
Atomos Shogun Drives
Shogun records to 2.5" Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Solid State Drive (SSD) media via a removable Atomos Master Caddy, with a new dual-drive RAID-0 Master Caddy also available to support 4K and high-frame-rate HD recording to low-cost HDD media, giving users over 2hrs of continuous 4K recording.
Atomos Shogun Audio
Audio is handled via 8-channels of digital I/O with a further two-channels analogue provided through a breakout Lemo cable offering full balanced XLR, line/mic and phantom power. A dedicated headphone output is also featured.
Atomos Shogun Battery
Featuring a single battery slot and a DC power input Shogun offers flexible powering options as standard, along with the industry's lowest power consumption. Shogun will ship with Atomos' forth-coming power module, that will feature two battery slots and two DC outputs and incorporates Atomos' patented Continuous Power technology. Featuring two Sony N, L-series compatible plates the power module provides continuous and uninterrupted operation to the Shogun through the DC connection, but can also provide the same continuous power to another DC device, such as the camera.
